mmmmm... Dr. Pepper....

OK, why didn't anyone tell me that Tesco in Taichung has Dr. Pepper for a mere NT$25 per can? (That's about 77.383 cents US, btw.) Dr. Pepper fans of Taichung, run out there and buy 'em up! Let the folks at Tesco know that they need to keep this stuff in stock! (And maybe devote more shelf space to it. I almost missed it--it's on the far end of the carbonated beverages shelf.)

Oh, and there's some A&W Root Beer too, for fans of that. Ahem.

Does it taste the same? I thought I heard that some times soda recipes were sweetened and otherwise altered for different markets.

Yummmm...root beer. My shopping hint for the week: don't buy milk at the little corner vegetable stand/Asian market. They either need to replace the refrigerator or stop scrimping and turn down the thermostat! (Even whole milk ain't s'posed to be that thick...)

Tesco has brought those sodas and I've seen Mountain Dew also, as well as pretzels, ginger cookies, and a few other snacks that have to date been very hard to get in Taichung--only the small 'American Store' importer has had these on and off over the years for very high prices. The only problem is, these things I always have graved for I now must force myself to avoid!

(He opens the can slowly... He sniffs the fragrant ...uhh.... fragrance emanating from the opening... [hard to believe I used to be a poet...])

Actually, this Dr. Pepper is directly imported from ... er.... Oregon, it looks like. Tastes just the same...

(He takes a too-big gulp, dribbling it on his shirt. Whoops...)

I avoided the cookies and snacks aisle last night. I did buy a couple of cans of pork & beans, though.

Susansinclair: eeew! Yeah, there are certain things I just don't buy at the corner market. Like anything I want to be fresh...
